To represent your whole company in a conference, expo, or any out-of-the-office activity is an achievement, and it goes double for when you’re invited to one that takes place thousands of miles away. It’s a big responsibility, but seeing as how you’re named as the representative, your company knows that you can accomplish the task and portray a good image during the event.

Of course, while this can be quite thrilling, it’s completely normal to also feel overwhelmed. After all, the time you’re in your business trip means time away from your office, and your regular responsibilities will have to take a back seat for a while. You’ll have to keep up with everything you can accomplish before your departure, and make sure that everyone who’s covering for you are well-oriented on your systems and tasks.

Add to that the fact that you’ll still have to organize the details you need for your trip, such as transportation hubs, transferring, and packing all your essentials. You can’t afford to forget anything, especially if it’s involved in some way with your presentation or industry relation-building. After all, your superiors expect that you’ll be there, completely prepared for everything.

If this is your first time, don’t worry — it might be a daunting task to master the art of a successful business trip, but you won’t be going in blind. Here’s a useful checklist of the things you need to remember and prepare before your big business trip, as seen in this infographic by Hyryde.
