If you notice that your blinds have been soiled, try this easy home remedy:

  • In a bowl, combine 50 percent water and 50 percent vinegar to make a cleaning solution.
  • Make a glove out of an old sock and immerse your hand into the concoction.
  • As you walk across the blind slat, gently hold both sides, giving special attention to the stains.

Regular Light Cleaning

The horizontal slats of blinds can easily collect more dust and dirt than vertical ones. Every week or so, venetian blinds should be dusted or vacuumed. Depending on where you reside, the time between dustings will differ. People who live near bustling city streets and frequently open their windows may need to clean their venetian blinds more frequently. In general, it’s a good idea to lightly clean your blinds whenever you notice dust accumulating — which is usually once a month — or if you’re performing other household dusting.

Cleaning blockout blinds with a gentle dusting is simple. Use a feather duster, a dry cloth, or an old sock to begin. Clean each slat individually as you work your way from top to bottom. Make sure you clean the entire slat, particularly if you have bigger slats like the 50mm slat width.

Also, make sure both sides of the slat are clean. Fold the cleaning cloth in half and grab the slats on both sides for the greatest results. Clean both sides of the blinds by moving the cloth across the slat.

Another option is to close the blind slats completely and clean the slats on that side. When you’re done, rotate the blind slats 180 degrees and wipe the other side of the slats.

VACUUM AND WIPE

In most cases, you should be able to wipe or vacuum your roller blinds. This method is excellent for removing dust or particles from a surface.

You will require:

  • a dampened cloth
  • Brush attachment for a vacuum.

Your blinds will be waterproof in this situation, and you can wipe them clean with a moist towel. Otherwise, simply use your vacuum cleaner’s brush attachment.

Your roller blinds should be fully extended.

Simply go over the entire surface of the blind with your damp cloth or vacuum. There’s no need to remove the blinds or use harsh cleaning agents.

Deep cleaning may be required for particularly stubborn stains.

You will require:

  • Unfold the blind a little more. The cloth should be slightly slack so that water can reach all surfaces.
