37% of Filipino adults, or an estimated 26.2 million people, plan to shop this year’s Amazon Prime Day sales, according to ‘Finder’s Amazon Prime Day Shopping Report’.
The survey of 2,003 Filipinos reveals more than half of those planning to shop (20% overall) plan to buy an Amazon product or service, with 4% of Filipinos set to make a purchase across both Amazon categories.
17% say they’ll buy an Amazon tech product, like a Kindle or Echo, and 8% an Amazon service like Amazon Prime Video.
More men plan to shop than women. 38% of men say they’ll make a purchase, compared to 34% of women – a difference of four percentage points.
Men are more likely to shop for Amazon tech products and other consumer tech, while women are more likely to shop for clothing, accessories, or makeup.
Finder’s retail specialist, Susannah Binsted, says there’s huge demand for Prime Day sales in the Philippines.
“Given the anticipated discounts a huge number of Filipinos plan to take advantage of overseas sales and ship products back home.
“Last year we saw huge discounts on consumer tech products in the US, with some prices slashed anywhere from 10-60%.
“With people spending more time at home it’s no surprise that many Filipinos are looking to buy Amazon tech products, like Kindles and the Amazon Echo.
“If you’ve had your eye on a particular product then Prime Day Sales can be a great time to bag a bargain. Just make sure that you’re not buying something for the sake of it.”
